William Smith was born on the Island of Nevis, Eastern Caribbean. He was raised in a nominal Christian home. At the age of seventeen he came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ through the witness of a family friend. After his conversion William was baptised and received into the membership of the local church where he became actively involved in the life and witness of the church, particularly with the Young People’s work.
In 1973 William enrolled for a three year theological course at the Kensit Memorial Bible College in London. Following his graduation he was involved in an itinerant ministry until 1980 when he was called as an assistant Pastor to Zion Chapel in New Cross, London. In 1988 he became Pastor where he remained until his retirement in 2006.
William has three children. William now worships at Downe Baptist Church, Kent.
